Amtech Electrocircuits has been selected by Corp! Magazine as one of Michigan’s Economic Bright Spots of 2017, recognizing the company for leading the charge in manufacturing through the development of a proprietary operating system used by small to medium-sized businesses to advance their use of automation.

The company will be honored June 8 at an awards event held at the International Banquet Center, 100 Brush St., Detroit. The event begins at 11 a.m. with a networking opportunity and exhibit gallery, followed by a lunch and the awards presentation.

Amtech, which was founded in 1995, began with a 5,000-square-foot facility in Royal Oak, but outgrew that just 10 years later. Now in a facility that is triple that of its original operation, the company continues to evolve.

A family business now in its second generation, Amtech has grown through developing innovations that answer the question “how can I compete with low cost countries?”

By developing a testing platform that allows it to provide defect testing at no cost, Amtech effectively has taken a step in leveling the field US. based companies.

“We are being competitive through innovation,” said Jay R. Patel, president and CEO of Amtech Electrocircuits. “We can help our customers manage their costs in a smart, sustainable and repeatable way. And we are striving to provide a competitive, U.S.-based service of manufacturing of circuit boards so companies do not have to go across our borders for this service.”

The Michigan Economic Bright Spots Award honors Michigan businesses that are thriving and succeeding in the state. The winners will be featured in Corp! magazine, which sponsors the awards program.
